According to the International African-American Museum\, nearly half of enslaved Africans brought to America came through Charleston\, and nearly 80 percent of African-Americans can potentially trace an ancestor who arrived in <a href="http://Charleston. \nOn” target=”_blank” title=”Charleston. \nOn”>Charleston. \nOn Saturday\, June 20\, 2026\, the Juneteenth Family Fest is back! This community-family-based event will take place at the Riverfront Park in North Charleston\, SC\, and is open to the public. Doors will open at 2 pm\, and festivities will begin at 3 pm. This day-long celebration will be power-packed with activities ranging from live performances\, black art displays\, games for children\, and delicious cultural food! \nNon-profit organizations\, local community vendors\, and historically black colleges and universities will be present to share information beneficial to our community and families. This joyous occasion will be topped off with a grand fireworks show finale that will be worth watching with your family and friends! We’re asking the community to come out and celebrate where we’ve come from\, as we look forward to where we are heading and what we desire to accomplish in the <a href="http://future. \n” target=”_blank” title=”future. \n“>future.

Adult participants will learn the Bob Ross Wet-on-Wet Technique® as seen on more than 300 PBS stations throughout the US. All materials provided\, no experience necessary. \nStudents are invited to bring lunch/snack. A brief break will take place mid-way through the workshop. \n \nAbout the Instructor \nBarbie Sawyer began painting in 2012. She took an acrylic painting class and found it wasn’t really what she was looking for so she signed up for a Bob Ross Landscape Oil Class. She fell in love with the oil paints and Bob’s techniques. She recently completed the Instructor Training program in Florida. She learned how to teach the “Wet on Wet” techniques and earned her certificate as a Certified Bob Ross Instructor. Come to one of her classes and “Paint Just Like Bob Ross (In One Day)” and you will leave with an impressive frame-ready painting.
