DESCRIPTION:Weaving is not an indoor sport\, it can go anywhere!Band weaving goes back thousands of years because there are so many uses. Participants will spend the workshop learning to weave on back strap rigid heddle looms\, which are portable and create amazing patterns.These looms are simple yet can create complex designs. Local Artist Kristy Bishop will teach how to warp the loom and create three different patterns: horizontal stripes\, vertical stripes\, and checkerboard. These can be combined for unique designs and leave room for experimentation. Attendees will leave the workshop with a weaving kit including: the heddle\, shuttle\, warp dowel\, and c-clamp\, instruction and pattern sheet\, as well as their finished band weavings.
