For our finale to Banned Books Week, we’re throwing a banned bookswap party! Bring your Couragous Reader Bingo challenge and favorite banned or frequently challenged book to swap with like-minded readers and take advantage of the Banned Books photo-op.
Freedom of thought is under attack in the US: Banned Books Week calls us all to action to resist censorship, champion speech, and fight for equal access.
Established in 1982, Banned Books Week brings together the entire book community in shared support of the freedom to read. Last year, 2,452 unique titles were challenged, the third highest number ever documented by the American Library Association and significantly exceeding the annual average of 273 unique titles over the period from 2001–2020.
