New World Symphony

October 10 @ 7:30 PM - 9:30 PM

Join us for an unforgettable evening of music by three of the world’s most beloved composers—Brahms, Mozart, and Dvořák—under the baton of GRAMMY Award-winning conductor Andrew Litton, Music Director of the New York City Ballet.

Mozart’s Clarinet Concerto, performed by CSO Principal Clarinet Charles Messersmith, is a masterpiece that showcases the clarinet’s warm, lyrical beauty. Messersmith, a member of the CSO since 1998, brings over two decades of experience to this stunning performance, infusing the piece with soul and <a href="http://artistry.

The highlight of the night is Dvořák’s “New World” Symphony, where Czech folk melodies meet the sounds of America in a thrilling symphonic journey. Composed during Dvořák’s time in New York City, this work blends the familiar with the exotic, capturing his longing for home and his love for his adopted <a href="http://country.

The Charleston Symphony Chorus will also join the orchestra for Brahms’s “Song of Destiny,” a deeply emotional work that explores the complexity of human fate. Its stirring harmonies are a perfect complement to the evening’s dramatic <a href="http://intensity.
