Creative Arts Workshop – Get Blue Indigo Dye Workshop w/ Julia Vanderpool

Indigo has deep roots in the Lowcountry. In this hands-on workshop led by local artist Julia Vanderpool, participants will explore that history before getting their hands in the vat. Learn how to mix an indigo dye bath from scratch, then fold and tie your fabric using Japanese shibori techniques to create one-of-a-kind resist patterns. You’ll leave with a dyed t-shirt, tea towel, or bandana, and the knowledge to keep dyeing on your own. No experience necessary. All materials provided, but feel free to bring your own fabric items to dye.
