What began a decade ago as a simple yet brilliant idea – bringing book lovers together to read in silence – has blossomed into a beloved local tradition and a vibrant community.
For ten years, Silent Book Club Charleston has offered a unique haven for readers. In a world constantly buzzing with noise and demands, the club provides a refreshing pause. Imagine an hour dedicated entirely to your current read, surrounded by fellow book enthusiasts, without the pressure of assigned books or discussion prep. It’s about the pure, unadulterated joy of reading, followed by optional conversation and connection.
To celebrate this incredible decade, we’re thrilled to announce a special anniversary meetup and celebratory read-a-thon! This isn’t just another meeting; it’s a chance to reflect on the countless stories shared (and silently read!) over the years and to look forward to many more.

Grab your current read, because we’ll be dedicating time to reading together.
