BLACK PEOPLE. LOVE. HOUSE MUSIC. Returns To LO-Fi Brewing This May
The Charleston-based house music experience returns Friday, May 29, with ZAE, BIBI BEATZ, and Nor Way on the lineup.
Charleston’s dance floor is getting another culture-forward night of house music this May.
BLACK PEOPLE. LOVE. HOUSE MUSIC. returns to LO-Fi Brewing / LO-Fi Brewing Pizza & Kitchen on Friday, May 29, 2026, from 6 PM to 10 PM, bringing its third installment of the year back to Meeting Street.
The lineup for the night features ZAE, BIBI BEATZ, and Nor Way, with the International African American Museum listed as the nonprofit collaborator.
More Than A Dance Party
While Charleston has no shortage of nightlife events, this one carries a deeper cultural lane.
The event’s own framing points directly to the roots of house music — a sound born from Black, Latino, and LGBTQ+ joy, struggle, survival, sanctuary, and release. That context matters because house music has always been more than a genre. It has been a gathering place, a release valve, and a rhythm built from communities that turned nightlife into freedom.
That makes BLACK PEOPLE. LOVE. HOUSE MUSIC. feel less like a standard DJ night and more like a cultural reminder: the music has history, the dance floor has meaning, and Charleston has room for more spaces built with intention.
