North Charleston is the New Cultural Epicenter: The Global Art Fair Returns
More than just a gallery walk, the two-day event (Oct 24-25) balances world-class exhibition with a free, family-friendly community day, anchored by founder Okeeba Jubalo’s vision.
The Lowcountry’s art scene is expanding its map, and its new epicenter is firmly rooted in North Charleston.
The Global Art Fair (TGAF) 2025, returning on Friday, October 24th, and Saturday, October 25th, is not just an event—it’s a powerful cultural movement. Founded by Charleston native and visionary Okeeba Jubalo, TGAF is committed to elevating Lowcountry and national creatives—especially those of African descent—by providing a platform they deserve. As Jubalo has stated, the fair aims to shift power away from outdated institutions and place it directly in the hands of the artists, establishing North Charleston as the region’s cultural powerhouse.

🥂 Night One: Fine Art and Soul In The Circle
The fair kicks off on Friday, October 24th, from 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM with the exclusive Cocktail Opening Reception ($25 ticket required). This is your chance to engage with the Fine Art Opening Exhibition in a sophisticated setting.
The evening is a curated fusion of senses, featuring a culinary selection by Chef Alexis Mungin alongside live musical performances from “Soul In The Circle.” Expect a dynamic, refined atmosphere with top local talents, including Zandrina Dunning & Stephen Washington, Georgia Nubia, Christine Johnson, and Hafeeza Yates, proving that TGAF is truly a multidisciplinary celebration of culture.
🚗 Night Two: Community, Cars, and Conversation
The true heart of TGAF is its commitment to accessibility. Saturday, October 25th, from 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM is the Community Day, and it is completely FREE to attend.
This is where the fair expands beyond the canvas, creating an immersive cultural “explosion” for everyone. Bring the family to explore a diverse TGAF Vendors Fair, check out the impressive Lowcountry Muscle Classic Car Show, and join the conversation that drives the mission forward.
Culture Conversation: The Nonprofit Leader Panel
From 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM on Saturday, the “Culture Conversation: The Nonprofit Leader Panel” will provide deep insight into the business of building a sustainable, equitable arts scene. This is a must-attend for anyone interested in how the Lowcountry can nurture and support its thriving creative community.
