Bulldogs Add Trip to Texas A&M to Headline 2026 Non-Conference Schedule
CHARLESTON, S.C. — The Citadel Football program has announced a marquee addition to its 2026 campaign, confirming a trip to College Station, Texas, to take on the Texas A&M Aggies.
The showdown at Kyle Field is set for October 17, 2026, serving as the centerpiece of a challenging non-conference slate that features regional rivalries and top-tier FBS competition.
The Matchup: The Citadel vs. Texas A&M
This will be a rare opportunity for the Bulldogs to showcase their brand of football on one of the grandest stages in the sport. It marks only the second all-time meeting between the two schools, with the first contest dating back to 2006. Facing an SEC powerhouse in front of the “12th Man” will be a defining test for the 2026 squad.

2026 Non-Conference Slate
With the addition of the Aggies, the Bulldogs’ current non-conference lineup features three distinct challenges:
- Sept. 5 — at Charlotte: The Bulldogs open the non-conference slate with a short trip to face the Charlotte 49ers (AAC), testing themselves against FBS competition right out of the gate.
- Sept. 19 — vs. Charleston Southern: The Holy City rivalry returns to Johnson Hagood Stadium. This battle for Lowcountry bragging rights remains a circled date on every Bulldog fan’s calendar.
- Oct. 17 — at Texas A&M: The Bulldogs head to the Lone Star State for a heavyweight clash against the Aggies.
With the new NCAA legislation allowing FCS programs to play a 12-game regular season starting in 2026, this slate provides a strong foundation for the Bulldogs as they prepare for Southern Conference play.
