Charleston has one of those weekends where you could build three completely different itineraries and still feel like you missed something.

This week brings AfroSouth Film Festival, Riverfront Revival, SC State vs. Charleston Southern, Thundercat with TiaCorine, R&B brunches, nightlife, community festivals, live music, football, art, wellness events and more across the Lowcountry.

Weekend Highlights

AfroSouth Film Festival

AfroSouth returns with programming centered on film, creativity, fashion and Black storytelling.

Friday includes the Youth Kreative Kitchen Workshop for middle and high school students, followed by Reel Style featuring celebrity designer Sergio Hudson.

Saturday’s Salute to Cinema includes screenings, an actors competition, a Southern female filmmakers spotlight and an animation masterclass featuring graphic novelist and Marvel artist Sanford Greene.

The festival closes Sunday morning with a filmmakers networking brunch in North Charleston.

Riverfront Revival

Darius Rucker’s Riverfront Revival returns to North Charleston for two days of music at Riverfront Park.

Friday’s lineup includes BigXthaPlug, Gavin Adcock and Charles Wesley Godwin, while Saturday brings Darius Rucker, Nelly, Old Dominion, Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue and more.

SC State Comes to Charleston

One of Saturday’s biggest local sports matchups brings South Carolina State to Buccaneer Field to face Charleston Southern.
