Charleston’s Pickle Palooza Expands Into a Three-Day Festival After Last Year’s Sellout

Pickle lovers, Charleston is apparently going to need an entire weekend this year.

Pickle Palooza III returns to Charleston from Friday, Sept. 18 through Sunday, Sept. 20, and organizers have expanded the formerly one-day celebration into a full three-day experience after reporting extraordinary demand and a sellout in 2025. The festival takes place at 1734 Signal Point Road in Charleston.

Instead of repeating the same festival format each day, Pickle Palooza is giving each part of the weekend its own personality — from a Friday night party to Saturday’s main festival and a Sunday pickle-themed brunch and market.

And yes, there will be a ridiculous amount of pickles.

Why Pickle Palooza Is Bigger in 2026

According to organizers, demand for last year’s event pushed Pickle Palooza to expand for its third year.

The 2026 edition now runs across three separate days, with organizers also putting a much larger emphasis on pickleball, food and drink experiences, competitions, entertainment and interactive activities. Saturday alone is expected to feature 40+ food, retail and artisan vendors.

For people who enjoy the atmosphere but aren’t particularly interested in eating everything pickled, organizers say regular food options will also be available throughout the festival.

Friday: Pickle Palooza Kickoff Party

Friday starts as a pickle-themed happy hour before turning into the official weekend kickoff party.

The current lineup includes pickle-inspired cocktails and drink specials, vendors, themed photo opportunities, karaoke, a pickle costume contest and a dance party. DJ Scott Sain is scheduled to host the costume contest, while Spicy Baby featuring John Pope and Julie Slonecki of Sexbruise will perform a live two-piece set.

There will even be a pickle-shaped disco ball organizers have appropriately named “The Disckle.”

That alone tells you what type of weekend we’re dealing with.

Saturday: The Main Festival

Saturday is the centerpiece of Pickle Palooza III.

Guests can expect dozens of vendors and restaurants, pickle-themed food and drinks, live entertainment, games, photo installations and expanded pickleball activities.

The festival’s stranger traditions are also returning.

Activities listed for Saturday include pickle-eating contests, pickle juice chugging, pickle bobbing and pickleball challenges, along with appearances from the event’s mascots, Dillbert and Briney Spears.

Another featured competition is Clash of the Cukes, where participating local restaurants compete for pickle supremacy and a $500 prize. Organizers say sampling for that competition will be available to the first 1,000 eligible ticket buyers.

In other words: Saturday is where the full briny chaos happens.

Sunday: Pickle Brunch & Market

⏰ 11:30 AM–3:30 PM

After two days of pickle festivities, Sunday slows things down — somewhat.

The weekend closes with a pickle-inspired brunch and market featuring brunch dishes, mimosas and Bloody Marys, local vendors, shopping and live or acoustic music.

It’s designed as the more relaxed portion of the weekend and gives attendees who aren’t looking for Saturday’s festival atmosphere another way to experience Pickle Palooza.

Pickleball Is Getting a Bigger Role

Pickle Palooza isn’t just leaning into pickles you can eat.

The 2026 festival is also expanding its pickleball programming, with organizers promoting more activities and interactive challenges surrounding the rapidly growing sport. The venue itself is set up to accommodate multiple regulation pickleball courts as part of the expanded experience.

That gives this year’s festival another layer beyond food, drinks and novelty contests.
