The IAAM Kicks Off Labor Day Weekend with Free Events & More!

This Labor Day Weekend, the International African American Museum (IAAM) is rolling out two incredible opportunities for the Charleston community to engage with history and culture for free. From a vibrant outdoor celebration on Saturday to a special free admission day on Monday, the IAAM has your long weekend plans covered.

Vibes on the Yard: Family Reunion Edition

First up, on Saturday, August 30, from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, the IAAM is hosting its Vibes on the Yard: Family Reunion Edition. This event is completely free and open to the public and will take place on the museum’s lawn. It’s a day packed with fun for everyone, including:

  • Live music and line dancing
  • Outdoor retail pop-ups
  • An Icee cart and other food vendors
  • Family-friendly games and activities

It’s a perfect chance to enjoy the beautiful museum grounds and celebrate community.

Free Admission on Labor Day

The biggest news is that the museum will offer free admission on Labor Day, Monday, September 1st, from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM! This special offer is sponsored by Charlamagne Tha God and The Black Effect Podcast Network.

It’s an incredible opportunity to explore the museum’s powerful exhibits. However, please note that space and tickets are limited, so you must reserve your tickets in advance to guarantee your spot.

Don’t miss your chance to be a part of these two fantastic events at the IAAM this weekend.
