7 Charleston-Area Brunch Spots To Put On Your Radar

Charleston does brunch in a lot of different ways.

Some mornings call for biscuits, grits and a table on King Street. Others turn into rooftop cocktails, live music, bottomless mimosas or an entire Sunday afternoon outside.

So instead of trying to name every brunch spot in the Lowcountry — or pretending there’s one definitive “best” list — we pulled together seven Charleston-area brunch spots worth putting on your radar.

Consider this Part 1.

Good Vibes Only

📍 3740 Ashley Phosphate Rd, North Charleston

Good Vibes Only brings a nightlife-minded approach to brunch, with music, cocktails and a crowd that often treats Sunday as much like a social event as a meal.

The North Charleston lounge has regularly appeared in WGOIC weekend coverage for its brunch and Sunday programming, alongside its R&B- and hip-hop-driven nightlife events.

Put it on your radar if: You want brunch with more energy than a quiet table and coffee.

Virginia’s On King

📍 412 King St, Charleston

For a more traditional downtown Charleston brunch, Virginia’s On King leans into Southern comfort food and familiar Lowcountry flavors.

Current brunch offerings include chicken and waffles, biscuits and gravy, stuffed French toast, fried green tomato Benedict, shrimp and grits and a full lineup of brunch cocktails. Brunch is currently served seven days a week from 8 AM–3 PM.

Put it on your radar if: You want the classic King Street brunch experience.

Millers All Day

📍 120 King St, Charleston

Millers takes its name seriously: breakfast is the whole point.

The downtown restaurant centers its menu around eggs, grains, biscuits, grits and cocktails, with an antique mill inside grinding corn for its grits. The King Street location is currently open 8 AM–3 PM Monday through Friday and 8 AM–4 PM on weekends.

There’s also now a James Island location, but for this list we’re talking about the original downtown stop.

Put it on your radar if: Your ideal brunch is really just breakfast at whatever hour you feel like eating it.

Ritual Rooftop

📍 145 Calhoun St, Suite 301, Charleston

Ritual gives the list its rooftop option.

Sitting above the King and Calhoun area, the restaurant pairs city views with a brunch menu influenced by Coastal Mexican flavors. Current dishes include chicken and waffles, a brunch hash, avocado toast and the Tulum Asada Bowl, alongside mimosas, Bloody Marys and espresso martini flights.

Ritual currently advertises brunch Friday from noon–3 PM and Saturday and Sunday from 11 AM–3 PM.

Put it on your radar if: Rooftop views and cocktails are part of the brunch requirement.

Gullah & Grooves

📍 4950 Centre Pointe Dr, Suite 206, North Charleston

Gullah & Grooves combines Lowcountry food with music and an atmosphere centered around Gullah culture and Southern soul.

The venue has become a recurring brunch stop in Charleston-area weekend programming, with “Grooves Brunch” and Sunday brunch events appearing throughout 2026. Its broader programming also regularly incorporates live jazz, R&B and soul.

Put it on your radar if: You want brunch where the music and cultural atmosphere matter as much as the plate.

Playground Lounge

📍 890 Bacons Bridge Rd, Summerville

Playground gives the list a Summerville option — and this one is firmly in the Sunday-funday category.

Z93 Jamz currently promotes Sunday brunch at Playground every week from 1–3 PM, while the venue’s brunch programming has featured Southern Soul, R&B, mimosas and buffet-style spreads.

Put it on your radar if: You want brunch to lead directly into the rest of your Sunday.

Taste of the Islands

📍 630 Skylark Dr, Suite A, Charleston

Taste of the Islands brings Caribbean flavor to the lineup.

The West Ashley restaurant serves dishes including curry goat, jerk chicken, oxtail, roti, fried plantains and other Caribbean staples.

Sundays also bring a recurring Gospel Brunch, currently promoted with live music from noon–3 PM.

Put it on your radar if: You want Jamaican and Caribbean comfort food with live Gospel music as part of the Sunday experience.

Charleston, What Did We Miss?

Again: this is not a ranking, and it definitely isn’t every brunch spot in Charleston.

That’s the point.

There are enough brunches across downtown Charleston, North Charleston, West Ashley, Summerville, Mount Pleasant and beyond to keep this series going for a while.

So tell us:

Which spot would you add to Part 2?

And if one of these seven is already your regular brunch move, tell us what everybody should order when they get there.
