KevOnStage Is Bringing His Personal “Grief Sucks” One-Man Show to Charleston

Comedian and digital creator KevOnStage is bringing one of the most personal performances of his career to the Lowcountry.

“Grief Sucks: A One Man Show by KevOnStage” will take the stage at the Charleston Music Hall on Sunday, August 16, 2026. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and the performance begins at 7:30 p.m.

A Comedy Show Inspired by Personal Loss

KevOnStage, whose real name is Kevin Fredericks, created Grief Sucks following the death of his older brother, Jason, in 2022. Jason was more than a family member—he was also Fredericks’ manager, creative partner and close friend.

Jason died after suffering a heart attack aboard a plane in September 2022. Fredericks has described the show as a way to honor his brother’s impact while helping audiences process the complicated emotions that follow the loss of a loved one.

Although the subject matter is heavy, KevOnStage has made it clear that the performance is still intended to be funny. The one-man show uses comedy, personal storytelling and reflection to explore grief, family, remembrance and the challenge of continuing forward after loss.

The Charleston Music Hall describes the production as Fredericks’ first attempt to publicly explain why grief has affected him so deeply since losing his brother.

KevOnStage Takes “Grief Sucks” Across North America

The Charleston appearance is part of a 31-city North American tour promoted by Live Nation. The tour is scheduled to begin August 14 in Birmingham and continue through December, with stops in cities including New York, Philadelphia, Chicago, Toronto, Las Vegas, Honolulu and Atlanta.

Before announcing the larger tour, Fredericks reportedly tested the material during a sold-out four-show run at The Comedy Store in Los Angeles.

KevOnStage has built a large following through stand-up comedy, social-media sketches, podcasts, television and film projects. The Charleston Music Hall describes him as an actor, comedian, entrepreneur, author, content creator, filmmaker and podcast host whose work has accumulated hundreds of millions of views across digital platforms.
