What’s The Move!? Things To Do in Charleston This Weekend, Sept. 11–13
From 9/11 remembrance events and Charleston’s crosstown football rivalry to Oktoberfest, Drifter Fest, markets, concerts, brunches and nightlife, here’s what’s happening across the Charleston area this weekend.
Charleston has a packed weekend ahead, and this week’s What’s The Move!? stretches across the entire metro.
From downtown Charleston and North Charleston to Mount Pleasant, Summerville, Goose Creek and Folly Beach, there are dozens of ways to get out of the house Sept. 11–13.
Friday also marks the 25th anniversary of Sept. 11, 2001, with several remembrance events happening around the Lowcountry before the weekend shifts into festivals, football, markets, live music and nightlife.

Friday spotlight: Remembering 9/11
Several Lowcountry events will commemorate the 25th anniversary of Sept. 11.
At Credit One Stadium, participants in the 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb will climb the equivalent of 110 stories in remembrance of fallen first responders.
Patriots Point will also hold its annual remembrance aboard the USS Yorktown.
If you’re looking for something family-focused later in the day, Up, Up & Read! continues at the Charleston Library Society with children’s literacy programming and author appearances.
Saturday, September 12
Saturday is the heavyweight day.

Charleston Southern and The Citadel meet at 6 PM at Johnson Hagood Stadium for the Lowcountry Boil Bowl, while North Charleston has a particularly busy Saturday with Park Circle Oktoberfest, LowTide Festival and MLW Fightland all happening across the city.
