Charleston, you have options this weekend. A lot of them.
The opening weekend of the 2026 MOJA Arts Festival brings food, reggae, visual art, dance, theater, gospel, poetry and New Jack Swing across Charleston. MOJA officially runs Sept. 24–Oct. 1 as an eight-day celebration of Black arts, culture and heritage.
Saturday adds One Table: A Multicultural Celebration, Nate Bargatze at Credit One Stadium, Travis Tritt, Charleston Battery soccer, The Citadel football, MELT Mural Festival, Home Team BBQ’s 20th anniversary celebration and a long list of nightlife moves.
Then Sunday brings something Charleston doesn’t see every weekend: college basketball outdoors at Credit One Stadium. The LinkU Invitational now features a three-game slate beginning at noon with Virginia vs. Vanderbilt, followed by College of Charleston vs. The Citadel and College of Charleston women vs. South Carolina.
And that barely scratches the surface.

🔥 WEEKEND HEADLINERS
MOJA TAKES OVER THE WEEKEND
Friday’s MOJA lineup includes the Food Truck Cook-Off from 4–6 PM at Hampton Park, followed immediately by the annual Reggae Block Dance from 6–10 PM, headlined by Kenyatta “Culture” Hill. Afro-Talks, the ASASE YAA African Dance Troupe and the opening of the Juried Art Exhibition round out Friday.
Saturday brings MOJA Arts Fitness, Making & Remembering: A Symposium, The Promise and Charlton Singleton & Friends: New Jack Swing at Charleston Music Hall. Sunday continues with The Promise, the Gospel celebration at Greater St. Luke AME Church and Black Frequencies: Poetry, Sound & Vision.
🌎 ONE TABLE BRINGS THE WORLD TO PARK CIRCLE
One Table: A Multicultural Celebration runs Saturday from 11 AM–3 PM at the Park Circle Community Building, bringing global food, cultural performances, live music, vendors and family-friendly activities together in one place.

🏀 COLLEGE BASKETBALL — OUTSIDE
Sunday’s LinkU Invitational transforms Credit One Stadium into an outdoor basketball venue.
The updated tripleheader:
12 PM — Virginia vs. Vanderbilt
2 PM — College of Charleston vs. The Citadel
4 PM — College of Charleston vs. South Carolina
Most tickets cover all three games; courtside seating is sold by individual game.
If you saw older promotions listing a 1 PM/3 PM doubleheader, those times are outdated.
🍖 HOME TEAM BBQ TURNS 20
Home Team BBQ celebrates 20 years Saturday at The Refinery with Paul Cauthen, SCAM Allstars, WERI and Mac Leaphart & Reid Stone.
Doors open at 3 PM, with the show beginning at 4:15 PM. A portion of proceeds benefits Rock N Roll Rescue.
🌴 TROPICAL FIESTA RETURNS SUNDAY
Mount Pleasant’s Tropical Fiesta runs 2–7 PM Sunday at the Mt. Pleasant Town Hall with David Rodriguez & The Latin Hustle, vendors, food trucks and an introductory salsa lesson during intermission.
It’s free and part of Mount Pleasant’s Hispanic Heritage Month celebration.
